What Should I Consider When Growing My Own Flowers For Wedding?

Are you thinking of growing your own flowers for wedding purposes? If so, then there are a number of different things that you will need to consider before you get started. One of the most important decisions that you will need to make is whether you are going to plant them in pots or if you are going to use a truss system. The next decision that you will have to make is whether you are going to use flowers that you want to grow or whether you will choose to purchase flowers that you can grow. A quick internet search into plants and flowers that are in their optimal health at the time of your wedding will help you out with this task.

Many brides choose to buy flowers from a florist, but if you have a green thumb and are interested in growing your own wedding flowers yourself, then you may be able to save a little money by doing so. Talk to your local garden center or do some research online into various plants and flowers that are in their peak health at the time of your event. Once you have narrowed down your choice, it is time to either start purchasing or growing your flowers yourself. You will find that growing your own wedding flowers is much less expensive than purchasing them, so you will want to take that into consideration.

You can grow a variety of flowers for your wedding, including roses, tulips, callas, freesias, gerberas, hydrangeas and orchids. These are just some of the more popular wedding flowers that people will purchase, and it is possible to grow most of these at home. You do not have to be a master gardener or an expert at gardening to build a great flower garden. In fact, it is quite easy and inexpensive to start your own flower garden, especially if you follow step by step instructions found on various websites around the web.

You will find that there are many different kinds of flowers that you can plant for your wedding. Most brides, however, tend to go with the traditional flowers that are in flower arrangements at their weddings. This may work well for you, or if you would prefer something different, there are dozens of websites and books online that can show you how to create your very own unique wedding flower garden. Try to be as original as possible when it comes to your flower garden. Don’t try to copy what you see at wedding after wedding, but try to be unique enough to stand out from everyone else’s wedding flower gardens.

You will need to be careful about the type of flowers that you plant, however. Try to avoid using any flowers that are toxic, and check the area where you are going to plant the flower to make sure that there aren’t any trees or bushes that may kill the flower. If you happen to have some poison ivy or other type of plant that can be toxic, you may not be able to eat the flower. Be sure to remove the poison ivy or try to kill the plant if you discover it.

The next thing you will want to consider is how many flowers you will be planting. When planning your flower garden, you need to know how much flour you can plant and how big of a flower garden you will need. If you are having your wedding in a large church or a hall, you will not need as many flowers as you would if you are having your wedding in a smaller space. Keep in mind that smaller flower gardens may require more care and maintenance than larger flower gardens, and may take longer to grow altogether. Plan accordingly.

Some people like to keep track of their flower garden with a special book. In that way, they can see at a glance which flowers are being produced. Others enjoy keeping a “list of flowers to do” so that they will be prepared for the arrival of the wedding party and can send them pictures of the flowers that need to be sent out. You could also create a spreadsheet to keep track of the amount of flowers needed, the date you plan on sending out your invites, and who is coming to your wedding. A spreadsheet like this will allow you to focus on one task at a time and will make the entire process easier.

It’s important that you have enough space for your flower garden before you start planning. You don’t want to buy more flowers than you need. Also, be sure that you choose flowers that will go with both weddings and colors. If you have a light colored wedding, you don’t want to overpower the colors with dark colors. If you have a deep colored wedding, you want bright flowers in your flower garden. It will look like you have multiple flower gardens rather than just one.
